Hello! I am back!
I wasn't MIA-ing.
Neither was I busy studying for MSA.
I just had to take care of this small eyed, pear shaped head baby :D
His parents send him to Nyai's place everyday.
Being the nice granddaughter and being obsessed about babies, I dropped by almost everyday to help look after him.

National Day
Though, I personally feel that last year's National Day school activity was more fun , I had enjoyed spending National Day with S05.
I didn't regret not skipping school on that day.
I enjoyed running around school hall singing National Day songs.
I love those songs.
So nice.
And I realised I look quite slim in school tshirts.
Hehe
And I get to make a big pretty ribbon that looks so cute on Aisyah
Makes me happy :)

Then, together with Farid, Deborah and Firqin, I said the pledge at 8.22 at Enli's Place

We entertained ourselves with everything that we could find.
From food to drinks to Singapore Idol to her weighing machine and of course the party hats

Based on the experiment, the maximum number of party hats you can wear per head is only 3

Awesome!

SERVICE LEARNING

The only thing wrong about SL day this year was that there's no real service or learning.
Dr Chua briefed us about the street sales.
How is that even service learning?

We were given a paper bag of $70 worth of merchandise to be sold within 2hours
That wasn't humanly possible
Some head to Toa Payoh. Some to Dhoby Ghaut.

Others stayed at Shunfu/Bishan area and did door-to-door street sales.
I am one of them.
Fortunately for me, Bishan is my area.
So I proceeded to KCP and then to Nyai's place together with JulienTO
Pretty slack you may say.
But I managed to sell everything :D

Most importantly, SL brought many smiles on our faces.
It brought us closer

And that is why, i love 09S05

I got back my Common Test results.
I don't know if its well done, but I'm glad retaining is worth it.
It takes retaining to wake me up and I'm wide awake already.

For those who did well, CONGRATS!
For those who did not, continue to work hard and not give up.
Trust me, you've not smelt failure like I have.
I didn't give up, so you shouldn't.
So best of luck! :]

I'm still not over the fact that after all the many dry runs under the scorching sun and the many times that I had to reach school by 8 during holidays, it all ended with a simple text message.
'No jc2 involvement for OCIP camp'
At first, I complained about the long days that I have, but when I got the message, I got a bit affected.
OCIP experience just doesn't feel complete without the execution of the OCIP training camp together with the other OCIP members whom I've already regard as another family in school.
Nevertheless, I'm quite grateful to be able to have a taste of the experience.
The trips of the new batch haven't even been confirmed. Sad.

I guess it's pretty obvious life hasn't been easy for me.
I'd be lying if I say I'm coping well.
Thankfully, I'm blessed with great people in life.

08S09
I miss my class.
I miss talking to them.
Life with them was care-free.
Despite not being in the class anymore, I can run up to them when I see them along the corridors and start talking about anything, be it general or personal.
Despite their constant 'fuck yous', 'fucking fat' and 'why you eat so much?', 08S09 has been wonderful.
They provided me with my daily dosage of happiness.

They're my mini escapade.
They unleash the minah/malayness in me
They made me comfortable burping out loud(if I ever did), laughing till I cry and everything else that may seem unglam.
It has only been one year, but they have been there for me each time I need them.

One word : Awesome!
They motivated me to study harder and constantly pressure me positively.
They're nice to talk to and are among the funniest and loveliest bunch of people I've ever met.
I feel fortunate being in this clas.
They make me look forward to school.
I would have been dead from school if it weren't for these people.

Fund raising on a Saturday morning.

I'm not a morning person so I definitely wasn't looking forward to the event.
And I was late, no surprise though.
I wasn't the only one anyway.
It had to rain.
So we spent some time 'bonding' at the very deserted Velocity Shopping Centre

They remind me of Izzati and Fezra
But what is S05 without them?

I had more fun than I expected.
I managed to sell quite a number of roses.
However I was quite tired of repeating the same sentence to EVERY single person in the cheery tone with my plastic smile.
And despite being in a Christian school all my life, I'm still amazed by their services.
So interesting.

TODAY,
my eye was such a disappointment.
Firstly, I was waiting for bus no. 13.
It took exceptionally long.
I was perspiring.
I was pissed!

So a bus arrived.
I squinted my eyes because I do not have perfect eyesight and I wasn't wearing contacts or my glasses.
What seemed like 13 to me was actually 162.
I only realised I took the wrong bus when the bus turned left instead of right.
Then I had to walk back to the bus stop and perspire more.

During math paper today, I threw away a few marks because I read the question wrongly.
Instead of 124/25, I read it as 124/125.
I do not know where I plucked the extra '1' from.
I realised that it is 25 only a few seconds before the end of the paper.
TSK!

So I had a study date with Farid in school last Friday.
Productive, but we started late
Then yesterday, Farid started a random conversation.
He said I have a fat face.
Disappointed, I tried to assure myself, I have an average size face.
Till I saw the two images below.
Notice how the fats made my eyes look smaller?
SAD.

Yesterday, we had study date with the MRC.
Surprisingly productive.
Funny how Ms Lam always caught us not studying.
But MRC being a malay club, they were 3 hours late!

Last Sunday, my family had a gathering over lunch at Sakura.
It was very fun as it was our first.
We wanted to celebrate Nabilah's birthday especially since she has just recovered.We had a lot of food.
Surprisingly, my stomach wasn't as small as usual.

As the adults headed to our relative's place, we headed for bowling. Despite not wanting to go bowling, I had no choice because there are cats in my relative's house.
Nadia being Nadia, will choose anything over cats, obviously.

I swear, I didnt want to embarrass myself in public during my virgin try, but once I started, I played non-stop. It was very fun especially with my kecoh cousins around :D

We ended of with the classic group photo.
This took the longest time to take as my cousin's jambul is soooo huge and thus covered my face for most pictures!

Finally, a whole day with Farid :D
That was the happiest period of time I had yesterday.

Farid patiently followed me everywhere I wanted to go.
He followed me to look for the cheapest place to get my face necessities.
From Tampines to Toa Payoh.
From one shop to another then back to the shop before.
He gave in to my every craves.
From MCSpicy burger to seaweed to chocolates.
Despite knowing that he'll have to finish 3/4 of all the food.
I was tired.
Farid wasn't even complaining even though I know its tiring to take care of me, a child to him.
He carried my bag for me and chased me when I skipped happily away from him when I saw things that caught my eyes.

Farid is the best.

But that happiness didn't last when I realised that I've lost the most priceless possession I've ever had.
Something that I kept so carefully for a year.
An essential to me now.
Something that got me staying up till 430 to look for it.
And my birthday gift from mom is no longer functioning.
How fucked up?

Last Saturday, I went out with the Malay comm.
I had fun.
They're the ones who made secondary/primary school unforgettable :DSo, we met up to give Ros a suprise birthday celebration.
She was really surprised.
Glad everything turned out as planned

We walked a lot.
We shared life stories and life planning over lunch and starbucks

PE was fun today.
Eventhough I didn't participate actively for today's activities, I always love PE.
Reason being, its always funny to watch my classmates fall down.
Its funny to see them get irritated.
I was.
Each time i waited patiently for a few miliseconds for the ball to fall onto my hands, it got snatched away.
How unfair.
I knew it'll fall onto my hands.
I wasn't an asset to the team.
Instead of catching the ball, I ran away from it.
However, I scored 3 goals okay!
That's 3 out of 5 points.
I'm not that bad for someone who didnt perspire.

Pyramida.
Of course it was fun to see people stomping their feet as though their partners can get the answers right by doing so.
It reminded me of the time Farid and I took part and we got first.
It was alot easier for us because we had chemistry and we spent alot of time together.
Unfortunately, Farid couldn't make it that day.
If not, we would have received the kamus.
What a prize to give away.

Speaking of today, yes, i had thoughts of skipping.
Then again, I didn't want to miss the telatah of participants of pyramida.
Besides, the excuse letter should be saved for more urgent emergencies in the future.
As I was rather fickle minded, it led me to leaving house at 7++
And i took a cab, thinking that it would cost me at most $10, but no!
It cost me $17.
And i live quite relatively near to school.
Why so expensive?
Cos there were two accidents.
I didnt make it to school by 730, but I wasn't considered late cos 100 others were equally late as well.
Darn, should have taken the mrt.
I would have saved $16.55
Lesson learnt.

Short week as mentioned.

Sports Day
Nadia being Nadia would have skipped Sports Day.
Unfortunately, I took part in the relay.
Why so stupid, you may ask?
Because noone else had the balls/pussy to take part.
Others had commitment.
I ran anyway, but found it pointless because we were way behind.
Nevertheless, good job guys for trying and persevering :)

Another strong reason for coming was the release of PW results.
I was anxious.
Of course I am. We poured out heart and soul into it.
I had to make sure that the effort was worth it.
And it is!
Congratulations to me and my group :D

We deserve it!
This makes retaining alot more worth it too.

What better way to end the holidays?

Last Saturday, my family gathered to celebrate my cousin's wedding.
We're very excited to see the first cousin getting married.
Its even more exciting as he got married to a Burmese who doesn't know much about the culture.
Cute how she struggled.The wedding was held at Lagun Sari so it saved us a lot of time preparing.
Nevertheless, we were still busy.
The kecohness made me realised how blessed I am to be born into this family

We were supposed to welcome the guests and pass the souvenirs, but being Nadia, I ended up eating and taking photos

Holidays are ending!

OMG! Almost too hard to imagine.
I don't even know where all that time went.

Anyway, holidays started off pretty well.
I had an AWESOME outing with the MRC, the ones who contributed to my staying in SAJC.
I would have left for poly if not for them.

Izzati and I had lessons. That explains the school uniform.
Not that we're kental or something.

It was raining very heavily thus making the outing alot more difficult.
That is why we had to take half and hour thinking of where to eat.
Being responsible young adults, we had to consider the pros and cons of every decision made.

Being the true blue malay, Izzati felt sleepy after eating

And being the true blue Makcik, I couldn't stop talking, even when eating.
Always have something to share.

We proceed to get something to wear for Izzati and I because the rest wanted to shisha.
As I can't work under pressure and clothes and money are two very important things in my life, I gave up looking for something cheap and wearable - something that matches with my converse sneakers and bagpack.
So many requirements!
I resorted to wearing Rasul's jacket. Should have thought of that earlier

By then, I was too excited to meet Farid who came back last Monday.
I presented him a 10 month gift since I had nothing to do while he was away.

On Tuesday

I didn't go for my Chemistry tutorial as it wasn't confirmed at first.
When I came to know about it, it was fifteen minutes before the lesson.
I would have made it on time if I took a cab.
But
The class had a mass mocking session of yours truly
So i had DEPRESSION.
And that confirmed my absence for the lesson.

So i left for Farid's.
When we were about to leave, I had my normal routine of appearance check.
A few milliseconds before we left, his grandmother came.
She's not someone I want to mess around with and coming out from his room was rather inappropriate.
So i locked myself in the room and fell asleep.
When I woke up, I realised its been 4 hours.
6.10pm and I hadn't had breakfast yet.
Amazing.

MSA 1 is over!

I'm very proud I put in a lot more effort than I ever did last year.
Hopefully, the effort paid off.
I'm still not expecting A's though since I know how hard the subjects can get.

I was looking forward to the holidays, only to realise Farid will be gone as well.
And he has left.
What a way to start the holidays.
Fortunately for me, we share the same math lecturer and we had a common break.
So we went to the 3rd floor, waiting for my physics tutor.
And we exchanged songs :D
I sang 'Say it isn't so' while Farid sang 'Thinking of you' for me.

Other than MSA, there are other events worth highlighting.
For example, mass reading of my blog during Civics!
No, fellow classmates. I'm not privatising this blog.
I'll disgust all of you with the mushy words that may come out from yours truly.

Another great example is the Malay dance that we performed.
Sadly, screwed.
I know I did when I sat like a man, almost causing an earthquake.

My first ever class photo with 09So5 :DD

This week has been rather short for me.
We had cross country last Wednesday.
The MRC wanted to have a cycling and rollerblading session after that. Healthy lifestyle la konon.
BUT!
We decided to eat first. A wrong decision obviously.
We spent an hour deciding on where to eat.
And being malays, after makan, NGANTOK.
So we didn't walk back to ECP.
Funny how we thought we would.

I got back my Malay results yesterday.
A disappointing C grade.
Thank goodness, I've decided to stick to Physics rather than taking H2 Malay way before I received my results.
So getting a C grade wasn't such a downfall to me though I had a split second of emotional moment.
Fortunately Qin was there. Qin, being her not serious self, made me feel ALOT better.

I WAS sure not retake the paper again.
But Mom said I should.
For the sake of beautifying the certificate.
Worth it?

Its been so long since I last updated.
School has started officially for the J1s and I'm enjoying it actually.
Despite being in an almost all Chinese class now with only one Indian and one Malay, I think things will go on smoothly.
I do miss 08S09. Dearly indeed.
The different mixtures of races made crapping and talking shit alot easier for me.

Thankfully for us, there were programs created to make moving on a lot easier.
The headstart program which I thought was a total waste of time, turned out to be fruitful.
I hated it at first
I wasn't put into the same class as the MRC, people I am close with.
BUT
Class A worked just fine with me after some time.
I became closer to those who are in the same boat as me.
I made very good friends with people who helped me get through this supposedly painful phase.
Academic wise, I became more motivated to complete my assignments on time when I realised how hardwork pays off.

Last week was Orientation week and again, I dread it. ( I just realised I hate everything about my school)
I didn't want to have to encounter all the 'Eh, how come you're in school uniform?' or the 'Huhhhhh! So you retained ah?
However, it provided me with the platform to make new friends and really let bygones be bygones.
I'm glad things worked out well for me so far.

As of now, I'm taking Biology, a subject I have completely no background of.
So, MUST WORK HARD NADIA!

How i spent my CNY

Farid and I have been busy lately.
We used our holidays wisely.
We met up only yesterday, on CNY.
As all shops were closed, we decided to go for the treetop walk that we've been procrastinating.

Despite the mosquitoes and the very long walk which i don't enjoy, spending the time with Farid walking at night was quite romantic

As most of us know by now, school has already started.
Strangely, I enjoy being a retainee.
The slow pace that we're going at now, the new friendships that I've forged and the old friendships that just got tighter by the seconds made life almost purrfect for me.
Indeed, I miss 08S09.
But my fellow MRC members made life so much easier for me.So on Thursday, these wonderful people, whom I recently got closer to, decided to give Farid and I a birthday surprise.
Even though it was impromptu, it was well done cos we were suprised.

I just got back from meeting Farid.
I went to send lunch to him.

Since we've been going out and eating out almost everyday, we are broke!
Completely penniless.
The economic crisis that we're facing also contributes to our current state.

Speaking of economic crisis, the prices of our daily necessities keep rising.
Its almost impossible for the breadwinners to provide for us especially since their pay remains the same.
Some even had their pay lowered.
Worst still, some are being retrenched.

I stumbled upon many complaints that the government is to be blamed for the unemployment rate in Singapore.
Indeed, the government are inviting foreigners to work here.
However, these foreigners only receive jobs that we won't even take.
We complained about the hot weather.
That's why we're not construction workers.
That's why the Bangladeshi workers have to take over.
Same goes to other jobs such as housekeeping.

We lead such a comfortable life that when something bad happens, we can just complain and leave it to the government to handle.
But maybe its time we stop complaining.
I think we should put our ego aside and take up any job opportunities that comes by before the foreigners completely take over us.

Goodbye 2008.
Hello 2009.

Early last year, I got my O levels results. It wasn't well done, but it was good enough for someone who did not put in as much effort as anybody else.
I contemplated my decision to go to a junior college.
I've always wanted to be enrolled since secondary 1.
However, as I grew older, I came to believe that JC isn't the right path for me.
I went in anyway, to please others because they expect that from me.

It wasn't entirely a mistake.
I made very good friends.
I learnt a lot of valuable life lessons that cannot be found in physics or math textbooks.
I learnt to fail.
And now, I hope that I learn from it.
2008 hasn't been very kind.
Hopefully, 2009 will be better.

Unlike others, 1st january is not just a new year.
It is my birthday.
I used to be very excited and wait impatiently for it till a good old friend told me that people who celebrate their birthday are actually celebrating a year closer to death.
Farid hopes that I grow more matured, more careful and less clumsy.
Many thanks to those who wished me.
To my family members who take the effort to celebrate despite having to work today.
To Farid for the birthday present, the surprise i screwed up and a surprise blog post that has not be posted cos he encountered some problems.

Recently, my parents have been complaining about the excessive usage of electricity.
'Obviously mahal, computer on satu hari'
And obviously they blamed teenagers.
Being proud multi-taskers, we switched on the television while chatting online and charging our handphones at the same time.
All of these use up electricity.

We are not like teenagers in the past.
We have the luxury of using electricity and do not even have to pay for it which I believed led to us using it excessively

I watched Oprah and I realised that our lifestyle plays a big part in this.

Now, at 11.48pm
Two television sets are on.
Three handphones are being charged.
The laptop has been charging for 6hours now.
The radio set has be switched on.
The lights and fans are all on.

It is okay if we need them

Unfortunately,
Only one person is watching each television.
2 out of 3 handphones are going to be charged all night long
The lights are on because one person is reading a book
Noone is listening to the radio.
And probably the laptop charger will be used the whole night to because my brother will forget to switch it off.

We need to change our lifestyle.
Or else we will either be broke one day and lead a difficult life or die from global warming.
Our choice.

1. I've been procrastinating this post because I cannot find 16 things that people do not know about me. I'm finally doing this because I don't want to come up with another 1 five days later.

2. I think its very cool that my birthday falls on first of January.

3. I'm very afraid of cats. I can go crazy. Literally.

4. As such, I don't eat fish because people say I look like a cat and I don't want to act like one.

5.I also do not each vegetables because they are considered leaves and grass to me and eating them makes me feel like a giraffe.

6. I am naive and easily taken advantage of. I do as I'm told even when I know I'm being taken advantage of.

7. I am very careless and clumsy. I lost my specs more than 5 times in a year, lost my ez-link card twice and one phone this year.

8. I have a thing for fat people. As such, I want to have many babies so that I can play with their cheeks. I only want fat, round and those with droopy cheeks.

9. I don't mind being a housewife, but I don't want to do housework.

10. Sometimes, I wished that I can't talk.

11. I love 08S09 despite the 'fuck you's, 'fucking fat', 'fugly' and the immature behaviour of the people.

12. As such, I regret that I choose to retain, but I'm very excited.

13. I don't cry easily. Instead, I accumulate all the heartaches and cry when i WANT to cos crying is tiring. And I read hurtful messages to make me cry.

14. I rather save hurtful text messages than sweet ones. I have both by the way.

15. I believe that I'm a strong girl who can withstand any amount of harsh words thrown at me.

16. Sometimes i feel like the world is too cruel to me and I have thoughts of committing suicide.

On 15 Dec 08, I met up with 5 of my good friends in secondary school, the Malay Comm.

The last time i met most of them and actually sat down to talk to them was after the release of our O level results.
It was very refreshing to see them, esp Siti, my very best friend.
I had a great time updating her about my life and listening about her life.

We started off with dinner at Pizza Hut.
That was funny enough since it was accompanied with their antics and jokes.

As it was very long since we last met, we decided to sit down and just talk.
In malay, lepak.
And the best place is Esplanade.
We played games I never thought i would have in public such as 'Concentration' and 'Boom Boom Chuckie' which Emerlia introduced to us.

We attempted the jump shots and many were unsuccessful.
Funny how much effort we put into it.

Since it was the full Malay Comm, taking group photos was a must.
Using self-timer mode in Rosazlin's camera, we shot many group photos in many positions.
We even placed the camera on dustbin and many other risky spots.

Everyday, our local agency guys will pick us up and send us to our respective sites.
Unfortunately, ciko( light green guy below) was infected with malaria.
He was sent to the hospital so we went everywhere with this wooden bus as mode of transportation

As soon as we reached our sites, we started doing our construction works.

Then we interacted with the kids.

Then dinner by Dedy's Kitchen. The food is AWESOME!

Followed by debrief

And our usual girl night party with lots of food

Of course, sleep with my lovely roommates :D

I'm back from OCIP.

Funny what I talked to Qin about on our way to Karimun Island.
Even before I landed on the island, i had thoughts of escaping.
I wanted to have high fever or chicken pox.
Or anything I can to escape from the hot weather and rural conditions of the Island

But i knew that would be silly of me especially since I'm the expedition leader.

Firstly, to my fellow dearest teammates, I would like to apologize for not being a good leader.
For being MIA during dry runs to not being loud enough during my announcements.
And also to the teachers for not being responsible enough when a task was given to me.
Many thanks to all of you for your continuous support despite what I've done.

I'm glad i persevered on.
The experience and lessons learnt throughout this journey are priceless.

Unfortunately enough for me, I didn't get to spend the whole 5 days with the students.
Instead, I had 2 days with SDN006 Pongkar and another 2days with SMP Muhammadiyah.
It wasn't enough.
But I enjoyed it.

The students in Pongkar taught me how i took education for granted.
There they are having to choose survival over education and yet, i blew my chance of promoting away.
The students in Muhammadiyah taught me how i took my parents for granted.
How i always hate hearing my parents nag,
but there they were wishing to hear their parents nag.

Being a councillor before, I interacted with many students younger than me.
I had said many goodbyes.
However, during the farewell, I was shocked I actually shed tears uncontrollably.
All the students salamed us.
From the first girl to the last boy, I continued crying.
Funny, cos I wasn't even close to any of them.
I cried even more when they presented to me flowers and rings and letters
and I had nothing for them.

Despite being darker, smelly and injured, I'd do it over again.

We do not know how someone exactly feels unless we're in their shoes.
For instance, you won't know how it feels to lose a child if you're not a mother.
Or you won't know how it feels to get cheated by your girlf/boyf unless you're in a relationship.

Likewise, i didn't know how it feels like to retain.
I never had to face the awful fact of failing, let alone retaining.
So now that I've retained, let me tell you how it feels.

To those of you who think this is an easy way out for them.
To those parents who think this is shameful for you.
And to those of you who simply think they're not trying.

Well, let me tell you.
Apart from having to face embarrassment and disappointing our parents,(which is something we really hate) they have to pick themselves up and start afresh.
They have to make new friends and try to move on and live without their current friends.
They have wasted a year of their life.
And lastly, they don't really ask for all these.

I know, reminders are good for people.
But if you can, they do not need reminders to remind them of how they have failed, instead, they need encouragement to tell them how they can excel.

But then again, you won't really understand, right?

To help protect the Earth and prevent global warming, our leaders have encouraged us to resort to public transport instead.
While I do not have any complaints regarding public transport, there should be some etiquette among public transport users.

I do not find it troublesome for passengers to move in and sit on the inner seat.
In fact, I think it is more convenient.
Why would you want to keep shifting positions to make space for other passengers to move in?
Not only that, you have to risk getting your face slammed with big bags.
I personally judge such people.
It is very difficult to squeeze through with our big bags and books just to get a seat?
And you know what's worse?
Is that irritated look when we say 'excuse me'.
Like it is actually our fault.
Not moving in, is purely inconsiderate to me.

The reason why I'm blogging about this topic is because I feel victimized.
And I know many others feel that way too.
Today, on my way to Toa Payoh with my sister, i heard a man constantly burping out loud.
For god's sake, control it dude!
And if you can't, the least you should have done was to say 'excuse me'.
That reminded me of the time someone coughed into my face!
Oh and not forgetting the many 'tak-mandi' passengers.
Spare us.
